Working in IT, I’ve seen how quickly technology changes. Lately, one of the biggest changes we’re all experiencing is the rise of AI. As a technical alignment engineer, I spend a lot of time helping clients make sure they’re set up with the right technology, and AI is starting to become a big part of that.
AI isn’t just a buzzword anymore. It’s showing up in real tools businesses use every day. From smarter security alerts, to automated reporting, to systems that help handle repetitive tasks faster — AI is slowly becoming part of the way companies manage their operations.
For clients, the benefits are clear:
• Efficiency: AI can take on repetitive tasks like generating reports, monitoring systems, or processing data. This reduces manual work and gives employees more time to focus on higher-value projects that drive the business forward.
• Security: With threats growing every day, AI can detect unusual activity or potential risks much faster than a human might. For businesses, this means stronger protection of sensitive information and quicker response to security issues.
• Support: AI-powered tools can help staff manage repetitive requests, can help end-users get quick answers, even outside normal business hours.
That said, adopting AI isn’t always easy. It’s important to pick the right tools, train people to use them properly, and make sure everyone in the business feels comfortable with the changes. AI should support people, not replace them.
Another key factor is compliance and data security. If AI tools are used without proper precautions, sensitive information could end up leaving secure systems or even flowing across the internet. That’s why businesses need to be thoughtful about which AI tools they adopt and how they’re configured. When exploring AI, companies should always ensure the solutions they choose meet compliance requirements for their industry, keep sensitive data within secure environments, and are transparent about how information is processed. Just as important, employees should be trained on how to use AI responsibly so that it supports security rather than creating new risks.
AI is powerful, but only when it’s used responsibly. For clients, this means balancing innovation with security — adopting AI in ways that improve efficiency and protection without putting data at risk.
At the end of the day, AI adoption is less about “jumping on the latest trend” and more about improving how your business operates. As the tools keep improving, I’m excited to see how AI will continue to change the way companies work in the years ahead.
